Hypothetical Letters

The One That Got Away

The Celine Boston Tote came in an array of sizes and colors and skins, I was overwhelmed with the choices! I needed more time to think! Classic ending to my story - I'm still cursing myself for letting it slip away :(
Maybe one day you shall be mine...

Spring Cleaning

It's that time of year again. Cleaning out your wardrobe, closet re-assessment, de-cluttering your closet, or whatever you want to call it - it's a dreaded chore and nothing I am looking forward to. The thought of re-visitng last year's worn to shreds summer wardrobe; the never or rarely worn and ill fitting items; pieces that - looking back now - were a huge #FAIL sitting there taunting me with the inevitable question "WTH was i thinking?".

This year I vowed to make drastic changes and do a proper assessment of the contents of my closet. I read somewhere that we only wear 20% of our wardrobe, sad I know, but the good news is we wear that said 20%, 80% of the time! I think it holds true in my case as I've noticed myself sticking to a few pieces I love rather than forcing myself to wear something that's blah just for the sake of change.

So dear readers, behold my new wardrobe resolutions:
  1. I will toss away anything I haven't worn more than three times in the past year, even if it's a "classic" piece. By classic piece I'm referring to that baby pink cotton vest I got from Zara that I was hoping to pair with a floral sleeveless dress one day and a top hat and go running through the meadows in the summer time; my olive green that go with anything leggings; or that long camel cardi-coat I got that can only be worn with one dress in my closet.
  2. Any items that are too small in size will go. Chances are I will have gotten bored with them by the time I get around to actually losing the weight.
  3. There will be a bonfire of my huge Juicy Couture collection (a collection i was very proud of one point in time)
  4. Will work on a capsule wardrobe with a few quality pieces and where everything goes with everything else. If it doesn't have a coordinating buddy or two, it's out.
Wish me luck and let's hope I don't get sucked back into old habits!

Rose Coconut Shake

My latest culinary obsession is anything rose flavored - turkish delights, sorbet/ice-cream, and a fluffy mousse concoction - and now I can add this rose coconut shake to my list! Found this drink recipe via Blogs Babble that would be perfect for these days as the weather's slowly heating up.

Ingredients:
1/8 tsp rose water (extract)
1/3 cup soy milk or soy creamer
2-3 scoops coconut milk ice cream (vanilla flavor) – slightly softened
pink coloring (optional) – 3 drops red and 1 drop blue
garnish: fresh rose petals

Directions:
Hand-mash the ingredients in a sturdy mug. Pour into shake serving glasses with a long spoon or straw. Garnish with rose petals. Serve!

Unknowledgable Fashionista

We all know one, or a few ;) Loved this tumblr that pokes fun at "fashionistas" who claim to be in the know when it comes to fashion just because they watch The Rachel Zoe Project, carry the latest It-bag and wear nothing but Louboutins!

Sunshine In a Bottle

A few years back I started using Clarin's After Sun Moisturizer to maintain my hard earned tan..it smelled heavenly and really lifted my mood whenever i got a whiff of it on my skin! Unfortunately I stopped using it cause I haven't been under the sun since then, but the other day while at the Clarins counter, i jumped with joy after discovering this!!

                   Sunshine Fragrance

It's the same fragrance used in their after sun line! Great scent for summer. Trust.

Controversial Models

First it was Lea T, the transgender model in the Givenchy ads, then Tisci (that's Mr Riccardo to you) cast an albino model Stephen Thompson as the latest controversial model to front the Givenchy ad campaigns.
Now other designers are following suit, meet Rick Genest (aka Zombie Boy - see pic below to know why) who also appears in Lady Gagas' Born This Way video, was chosen as the face of Theirry Mugler's Fall ad campaign. I wonder what designers will be serving next?
