Chocolate Covered Cornflakes

When in Londres, these heavenly chocolate cornflake bites from Marks&Spencer are basically my pre-breakfast breakfast. They are after all cornflakes so don't judge! I do miss them terribly since M&S don't stock them here :( But I did manage to find a 2nd class substitute.

They can make do until my next trip to London.

Je Veux

Craving those dark chocolate balls with a marzipan center

or as I like to call them since I was a kid " Mozart chocolate balls". Turns out that's what they're really called. So much for being creative.

How Do You Like Your Steak?

Our cook never seems to get the meat cooked right, most of the time we end up with chewy steak. But I think this cool little gadget is the answer to my prayers! Just stick the thermometer into a piece of meat and set the button to your desired degree of doneness..et voilà!

Are You a Nutella-holic?

So my Nutella craving kickstarted again this weekend, sadly, the only way I know how to eat Nutella is to spread it on toast or pita bread, a basic tired-out recipe.
I need something new that tickles my taste buds, and these totes drool worthy recipes seem to fit the bill.

I hope someone makes this and sends me some (S. am talking to u)

Rose Coconut Shake

My latest culinary obsession is anything rose flavored - turkish delights, sorbet/ice-cream, and a fluffy mousse concoction - and now I can add this rose coconut shake to my list! Found this drink recipe via Blogs Babble that would be perfect for these days as the weather's slowly heating up.

Ingredients:
1/8 tsp rose water (extract)
1/3 cup soy milk or soy creamer
2-3 scoops coconut milk ice cream (vanilla flavor) – slightly softened
pink coloring (optional) – 3 drops red and 1 drop blue
garnish: fresh rose petals

Directions:
Hand-mash the ingredients in a sturdy mug. Pour into shake serving glasses with a long spoon or straw. Garnish with rose petals. Serve!

Brizelés

I discovered these deeelish crispy crepe like savories on a recent trip to Beirut, and learned that the guy who made them started out as a sort of experiment but has since found that they were hugely popular and in demand.

Brizelés come in four flavors: Cheese, Thyme, Black Cumin (or 7abbat barakah) and Olives ♥ and are quite addictive, I like to spread them with lebnah, olive paste and cheese depending on the flavor.

You can find them at Kezako in Saifi Village, or call +03 324 222 for more information.

Valentine Treats

Just to set the record straight, I do not celebrate Valentines' Day and yes, because it's a tired cliche and just another holiday created to encourage consumerism. But I do enjoy the edible aspect of Valentines' and always look forward to the creativity put forth by sweet and treat makers.

These treats are the creative genius of the decorated cookie and are easy to make, for ingredients and instructions check out her blog.

Absolutely Delighted!

After a recent trip to Istanbul, turkish delights have been all I am craving and as soon as I heard word of Divan being sold here in K-town, I was running to the co-op to stock up on these tiny exotic pastel colored jelly cubes. Chocolate Covered Pistachio and Chocolate Covered Rose - come to momma!!

What makes Divan exceptional you ask? It's not just because these turkish confections come in super yummy flavors, it's their sleek and distinctively designed colorful packaging which makes for a perfect little present. Also, they just look pretty sitting on your coffee table! :)

You can find Divan in Al Refai, and I believe Dean & Deluca carry their products too.
